However, I think it’s safe to say that there are a few names out there that we would all LOVE to be our godfathers. From A-list celebrities to politicians of old, the below list constitutes some of the most amazing, inspirational, knowledgeable and downright awesome men to have ever lived – we all wish they were our godfathers.
Steve McQueen
A movie superstar, a motoring hero and a style icon – who wouldn’t want the ‘King of Cool’ to be their godfather?

Winston Churchill
As the man who saved Britain and one of unbridled wit, the stories Churchill could tell you over a cigar and whisky would be endlessly mesmerising.

Like Churchill, Attenborough’s knowledge knows no bounds. Calling him for a chat would be beyond insightful, enjoyable and fascinating.

Marlon Brando
Another outrageous movie star, who wouldn’t want the actual ‘Godfather’ as their real godfather? Seriously, it would be amazing!

Michael Gambon
Imagine if Dumbledore was your godfather? I know, ridiculous! His gentle nature and soothing voice would make everything better.

Richard Branson
For the entrepreneurial spirited, who better than Sir Richard Branson? Fly to see him on Necker Island, chat business and while the nights away – perfect.

Stirling Moss
A motoring legend of gargantuan calibre, Sir Stirling Moss would make the perfect godfather. Whether driving through the countryside or tinkering on a vintage machine, Moss would be an outrageous godfather.
