A special edition Maserati is a fairly bewildering concept. After all, each and every Maserati is a fairly wondrous creation that has had no holds barred in terms of design, performance and luxury. One might be forgiven for wondering just how much more special a Maserati could feasibly be made but, when legendary design house, Ermenegildo Zegna jump on board, the improvements become immediately apparent.
Famed for their iconic Italian designs and forward-thinking initiative, Zegna is a company that shares many traits with Maserati. Both companies represent that pinnacle of luxury in their respective fields and both of them are steeped in history and tradition. It seems only fitting then, that the two brands would come together to celebrate this year’s centenary of one of the most prestigious car marques in the world.
The collaboration in question is a special edition Maserati Quattroporte that has been specced out with Zegna inspired treats. On the outside, a unique Platinum Silk paintjob has been utilised to accent the beautiful lines of the car and, as it has been blended with miniscule aluminium pigments, it gives it a finish reminiscent of fine Zegna silk. Continuing the opulent theme is the interior, which has completely transformed and upholstered in the finest quality materials, as you would expect. The figure hugging sports seats have been wrapped in a special weaved silk from Zegna’s Trivero factory as well as premium leather finished in Testa di Moro dark brown and Greige light grey. Silk is utilised elsewhere in the interior and with a walnut covered dashboard, custom chrome accents and an outstanding multi-speaker Bowers & Wilkins sound system, you can be sure that this unique car is fit for even the most discerning of gentlemen.
Of course, after purchasing such a stylish automobile it would seem foolish to neglect your own attire, but Zegna has that well and truly covered too. Each new owner of a special edition Maserati Quattroporte will receive a unique range of matching leather and personal goods including a suitcase, holdall, umbrella, sunglasses, suit carrier and much more. Suddenly that price tag of £170,000 doesn’t seem so bad after all.
