A well-fitting shirtforms the basis of innumerous outfits, and is therefore one of the most important wardrobe staples of the modern gentleman. Bespoke clothier and Royal Warrant shirtmakers Turnbull & Asser understand this importance, and employ 86 skilled men and women to labour over the creation of the perfect English shirt in its dedicated Gloucester factory.
Crafted from either the highest grade Egyptian cotton, or the coveted and rare West Indian Sea Island cotton, the garments are available in patterns from butcher’s stripe to gingham check.
The collars are cut on a curve to ensure a better fit over the collar bone, while removable collar stays add essential shape and structure. Single needle stitching adds a strong, fine and flat finish to seams, and the buttons – all cut from the deepest part of the mother of pearl shell – are affixed by cross lock stitching to ensure that they never detach. So if you’re looking to invest in a well-tailored shirt of impeccable quality, there are few better options.
