Next month, the car once owned by legendary Rolling Stones rocker Keith Richards, will be going up for sale in auction. The car in question is a 1972 Ferrari Dino 246GT. First debuted at the Turin Motor Show in November 1969 and featured a transverse engine 2.4 litre V6 which had a top speed of 146mph and did 0-1000m in 26.8 seconds.
This particular Dino, which was brought brand new by Richards in California in 1972, was owned by the English musician for fourteen years till April 1986 covering only 25,000 miles in that time. Post 1986, the Ferrari was sold to a ‘prestigious’ collector and will now be auctioned off at a Coys’ Monaco auction with no minimum reserve.
A Coys spokesman stated, “A Dino offered at no reserve is rare enough in itself, but when one adds to this proven long-term ownership by rock and roll aristocracy, the Keith Richards car has to be the ultimate Dino.”
The Ferrari Dino 246GT will be auctioned on 9th May at coys.co.uk
