If the recent online frenzy is anything to go by, this is the moment anyone with internet access has been waiting for – the first glimpse of the brave new Jaguar. (Or should that be JaGuar?) After causing a storm with a bold and unapologetic marketing campaign to announce the rebirth of one of Britain’s greatest motoring houses, the brand pulled the covers off the Type 00 vision concept at Miami Art Week, giving a glimpse at the company’s new, UK-built four-door GT car that will hit the road in 2026 and is rumoured to be priced from around £100,000. There’s not too much word on performance just yet – all we know is that it has an all-electric powertrain, and the label has promised it’ll be able to cover 430 miles on a single charge.
Living up to Jaguar’s promise that the car would be a “copy of nothing” – a phrase taken from the mouth of its late founding father, Sir William Lyons – the Type 00 features a long bonnet, big 23-inch rims, squat stance, square face and a striking glassless tailgate. Squint and you’ll see traces of E-Type in the silhouette and the sweeping, fastback roofline. As one of the icons that’s informed the big rethink, Jaguar is hoping to recapture the “same sense of awe that surrounded famed models like the E-Type,” says Jaguar Land Rover CEO Adrian Mardell.
With testing of the real-world car already underway, we’ll get to see our first proper glimpse in late 2025. In the meantime, all change, please – make way for the bold, new, “exuberant” Jaguar.
