Are you ready for one of the most powerful SUVs to hit the roads? Jaguar certainly are, and here it is, coming at you in a blaze of bright red brake callipers, roaring supercharged V8 and sweeping statement design.
By far the most significant evolution of the already award-winning F-PACE, the SVR has been designed and engineered by the experts at Jaguar’s Special Vehicle Operations.
What’s different under the bonnet?
Lift up that bonnet and you’ll find a supercharged 5.0-litre V8 petrol engine that’ll deliver 680Nm of torque. Stamp your foot to the floor, and you’ll reach 0-60mph in 4.3 seconds, and keep pushing and you’ll reach – in no time at all – an outrageous top speed of 176mph.
The car has been tweaked so much that we need a bigger term than tweaking. The F-PACE SVR has bespoke calibrations for Quickshift transmission, Electric Power Assisted Steering, Adaptive Dynamics, Torque Vectoring, Dynamic Stability Control and All-Wheel Drive systems. That’s a lot of tweaking.
What’s new with the bodywork?
It looks different, that’s for sure – but what exact changes have been made to the SVR to give it this new, sportier feel? Not only does the SVR aerodynamic package feature unique front and rear bumpers, with lower body sides and rear flip spoiler – intended to enhance cooling, reduce lift and aid high-speed stability – but it has also had its chassis tuned.
The SVR-tuned classic features uprated dampers with front and rear spring rates increased by 30/10 per cent, respectively. And those wheels – up to 22-inch forged wheels with differential width from front to rear improve both handling and traction for a considerably more comfortable ride.
What’s new inside the cabin?
The chassis has done all possible to ensure comfort, but what about creature comforts in the cabin? Expect slimline sports seats in the front and rear, with signature lozenge quilting and embossed SVR logo – which will keep you reminded that this is no ordinary Jaguar.
Your exclusive SVR steering wheel will do the same, with its aluminium paddle shifters – not to mention a special Sports Shift gear stick. There’s 4G WiFi on board, a Touch Pro entertainment system and four interior colour themes to choose from: Red with Jet, Light Oyster with Jet, Siena Tan with Jet and Jet with Light Oyster stitching.
