Airlines are forever coming up with ways to make our travelling experience the best it can be, a gentleman should never have to squeeze his way into a narrow, uncomfortable seat after all. Etihad Airways, however, have taken this quest for the ultimate luxury to a whole other level. Sunday saw the reveal of ‘The Residence of Etihad’, a VIP 125 sq feet multi-room suite aboard the Airbus A380 jets.
Designed by Etihad Design Consortium, the suite includes a whole host of amenities including a separated living room, double bedroom, ensuite shower, leather seating, a minibar and a 32 inch flat screen television. As if that wasn’t enough, you will also have access to a Savoy Academy-trained butler, gourmet chef and concierge.
James Hogan, Etihad Airways’ president and CEO stated, “These new living spaces will raise inflight product and service standards to their highest level yet in commercial aviation and alter air travellers’ expectations of inflight comfort and luxury forever.”
There has been no official word yet on how much the suites will cost but Etihad’s chief commercial officer, Peter Baumgartner, has said that a suite will likely cost about three or four times as much as a regular first-class seat.
