The highly anticipated Mercedes AMG GT has been unveiled, sending the automotive world into frenzy. With production of the SLS finally coming to a close, this new baby supercar is set to rival Porsche’s 911 and Jaguar’s F-Type, when it goes on sale early 2015.
It must be said, the AMG GT is the most beautiful car Mercedes have produced in decades. It’s compact and slender, boasting sweeping lines that are clearly reminiscent of the SLS. It’s far more elegant and refined that its elderly cousin though, yet it’s been gifted with aggressive details such as bulging bonnet louvres and trademark side vents, which have come to define Mercedes sports cars over the years.
The car initially launches in two models: the GT and the GT S. Both cars will make use of Mercedes’ state-of-the-art turbocharged V8 and dual-clutch gearbox, although the GT S delivers 503bhp compared to the standard GT’s 456bhp. Both cars come with all-round double wishbone suspension and a locking differential, which should make it sharper and even more responsive than the SLS.
The Mercedes AMG GT will go on sale early 2015. It will cost between £110,000 – £120,000. For more information, visit Mercedes’ website by clicking here.
