Jaguar is set to reach more customers than ever before as the British auto-icon launches its first ever ‘affordable’ F-TYPE. Attempting to ‘broaden the appeal’ of one of their most successful cars, Jaguar have said that the car, which will be released in spring 2017, will be the first time a car in that range will be sold for under £50,000.

Introducing their new ‘state-of-the-art Ingenium petrol engine’, which Jaguar have turbocharged is reportedly the most powerful four cylinder in any of their production cars. The new F-TYPE will deliver the usual ‘sports car DNA with enhanced agility and improved efficiency and affordability’.
Better still, the new Ingenium engine will also reduce on your fuel bill by more than 16 per cent according Jaguar.
Ian Hoban the Jaguar F-TYPE vehicle line director says the updated engine ‘has created a vehicle with its own distinct character.’
‘Performance from an engine of this size is remarkable and is balanced with improved fuel efficiency and affordability,’ he says, claiming it also makes ‘the F-TYPE experience more accessible than ever before.’
And for an ‘entry-level’ version of the magnificent F-TYPE, it comes complete with some genuinely impressive toys and gadgets to make your driving experience as comfortable as it is in the premium versions. An InControl Touch Pro system comes as standard alongside a whole enhanced driver assistance systems including Autonomous Emergency Braking, Traffic Sign Recognition, Adaptive Speed Limiter and Lane Keep Assist.

But perhaps most important of all, the new F-TYPE still looks as beautiful as all the other cars in the Jaguar Stable. Ian Callum, the director of design for Jaguar says ‘retaining the silhouette of F-TYPE across the model range is really important to us whether it’s the 200mph SVR or the new 2.0-litre four-cylinder. This is a true Jaguar sports car and a true F-TYPE – we didn’t want to dilute the design DNA. Even so, this car has its own unique character, and the new single tailpipe finisher exemplifies this.’
It’s safe to say that the new F-TYPE 2018 is finally making the most of its DNA and at long last living up to the legacy of its grandad, the glorious E-TYPE.
