Indian hold a somewhat fabled status within the world of motorcycles. Founded at the turn of the last century, they were one of the major pioneers of two-wheeled technology and produced a number of iconic models that represent the finest in terms of design, performance and ultimate road presence. One such model was the Scout, which was introduced in 1920 and went on to become the most popular bike of their entire range. Its run was cut short in 1942 but now it’s back, and better than ever.
The 2015 Indian Scout is a stunning machine, retaining the vintage looks of its predecessor whilst introducing state-of-the-art technology for the modern rider. Its powerful V-twin engine is the heart and soul of the bike, and looks mightily impressive in its exposed state. As Indian’s first ever liquid cooled engine, it provides plenty of low-end grunt and sounds the part, penetrating the rider’s soul with its Earth-shattering exhaust note.
Whilst it has been designed as a cruiser, the Scout boasts a lightweight chassis, giving it surprisingly agile handling abilities should you feel the need for speed. Its strongest asset has to be its looks though, its large fenders and tan leather solo seat providing satisfying nods to its predecessor.
The Indian Scout is available later this year and will cost in excess of £10,000.
