Luxury watch manufacturer, Hublot, have created the perfect fusion by collaborating with The Watch Gallery to create two limited edition timepieces; the Classic Fusion & Classic Fusion Chronograph 45mm Special Edition ‘The Watch Gallery’. With titanium cases and Hublot’s highly distinguishable H-shaped screws paired working alongside The Watch Gallery’s signature blue case, both watches are impressively elegant, stylish and feature incredibly unique design elements.
This is also very much a pairing of equal measures, with each limited edition watch having features that are consistent with both The Watch Gallery and Hublot together. The use of titanium, for example, has become increasingly popular in contemporary watchmaking and the use of it in this instance, with these watches, is inspired by Hublot’s material experimentation. And while style is undoubtedly a large piece of the puzzle, functionality through the use of this strong, anti-corrosive and hypoallergenic material is just as important.
So what exactly are the defining features on both of these incredibly unique watches? First, on the Special Edition (a watch powered by the HUB1143 automatic calibre and provides 42 hours of power reserve), comes the fused titanium and polished satin-finished black ceramic bezel. And if that wasn’t impressive enough, next comes the blue satin-finished dial and the not one, but two straps that come with the watch – one made from rubber and the other from rubber-lined alligator. Blue is very much a theme with both of the watches, mirroring The Watch Gallery’s own blue handwriting.
There are only very slight differences between the two watches, but these differences definitely change the overall look and feel of the watch. The Classic Fusion is inspired by the avant-garde designs that were first launched by Hublot in the 1980s, shortly after it was founded. The brand were the first to fuse precious, elegant gold with industrial rubber – a move that made waves in the watchmaking conventions at the time.
Both of these watches are stunning in their own right and have paved the way for a true gentleman’s watch, a classic and timeless timepiece that serves perfectly as the ultimate everyday watch.
