Joseph Gordon-Levitt can barely contain his delight about his new project. The actor, who tried his hand as a director in last year’s provocative and hilarious Don Jon, explains ‘it certainly is a great deal of wish fulfilment for me, this show. It’s a long time coming. If you notice that I’m excited, it’s because I am.’ Levitt is referring to ‘HitREcord on TV’, a project he has been working on with his brother Dan since 2005. The scheme initially began as an online platform for the Gordon-Levitt brothers to post their own videos, but their re-launch in 2010 encouraged a worldwide span of creatives to join together, constructing a new wave of online television. The first episode will premiere on the 17th January, with two episodes to whet the appetite. The series will see short films, comedians, music, animation and discussion from across the globe, melded with the imaginative investment of Gordon-Levitt and his brother. Think of it as artistic social networking with a Hollywood twist. The Inception star has created a podium for artists and intellectuals from around the world, all for our on-screen enjoyment.
