All the exciting events of Day 2 London Collections: Men including Richard James, Duchamp, Crombie,

RICHARD JAMES

Richard James - TGJ.01

This morning saw the sartorially sharp suiting one would expect from one of the youngest of the Savile Row stars, Richard James parade down the runway within the BMW showroom.

With the likes of David Gandy, Oliver Cheshire and Jack Guinness on the front row, this was definitely the show to be at today. Metallic burgundy and glittery blue evening suits shimmered down the runway getting us excited for next AW party season already.

For those looking to update their suit selection we recommend the oversized check suits elevating the stand greys to new sartorial heights. The colour palette was kept traditional with autumnal forest greens and dark browns in herringbone and tweed with a statement blue leather jacket really stealing the show.

DUCHAMP

duchamp - TGJ.01

What a fitting venue for such an event. Held at the Royal Acadamy, the Duchamp presentation pulled out all the stops.

CEO, Marc Psarolis, told TGJ that they wanted to do “something a little different, and transport us into the world of Duchamp”, and that they certainly did. Serving cucumber infused Hendricks Gin & Tonics, models moved in and around the guest dressed impeccably in velvet dinner jackets, suede loafers and checked three piece suits.

The room was transformed into an old time Gentlemans club, with models and ‘hosts’ playing chess, poker and even Bartitsu.

The collection looked effortless, from a stunning peacock blue smoking jacket, sartorially spot on tartan 3 piece to a polka dot suit and paisley shirt there wasn’t a single piece that we didn’t want to own.

CROMBIE

Crombie2 - TGJ.01

Another collection – another load to add to our wish list. With the sun set, this evening got off to a great start with a glass of champagne at the Crombie presentation.

Set in an uber cool warehouse, with pumping music, rows of gloved mannequins were clothed in sumptuous military inspired clothes.

From butter soft leather jackets with luxurious shearling collars to subtle checked suits, it was impossible to play favourites.

The autumnal colours we’ve seen on many a runway so far were again in abundance here, with rich browns, greens and sharp blacks taking over in leathers, wool pea coats and beautifully made leather shoes.

RAKE

Rake - TGJ.01

A star studded front row included the likes of David Gandy, Tinie Tempah and Oliver Cheshire as we took our seats for the much anticipated RAKE show.

Red strobe lights adorned the runway before the thumping music started up and the first beautifully dressed model appeared on the runway.

This was the perfect way to end a day of utterly stunning suiting. Military inspired coats are clearly going to be a huge trend come AW14 as a host of shearling lined coats were thrown over slim cut suits. Polo neck jumpers were worn under tweed jackets with subtle flecks and outfits were accessorised with feathers.

Winter whites were also present, with the likes of white trousers worn with grey knit jumpers or navy blazers. The real shock entry onto the runway was the introduction of a pale violet printed trousers and, later on, a matching shirt – definitely one for the more sartorially confident.

All in all, this was another in a long line of beautiful collections that we’ve seen here on Day 2 of LCM … Fingers crossed that tomorrow’s grande finale is just as much a feast for the eyes.
