HIGHLIGHTS – DAY 1 LONDON COLLECTIONS: MEN SS15
London Collections: Men got off to a cracking start this season with pastel colours and beautiful tailoring leading the way. Here, we take a look at our favourite shows and presentations of the day:
LOU DALTON,

In contrast to her SS14 show of last year, Lou Dalton decided to take a more minimal approach this time round at London Collections:Men. Simple, clean silhouettes were accented by beautiful pastel colours, which, if today is anything to go by, are going to be a big-time trend, both this summer and next.
DUNHILL,

Marking their return to LCM, Dunhill presented their SS15 collection in the wonderful Number One Horse Guards in Westminster, which was a fitting destination for such an flamboyant display of opulent attire. Featuring expertly tailored trousers, sports coats, suede loafers and beautiful travel holdalls, the Dunhill collection provided plenty of inspiration for that weekend escape.
JOHN LOBB,

John Lobb are arguably the finest of all Northampton shoemakers, having produced outstanding quality welted shoes for well over a century and for their presentation at London Collections:Men SS15, they didn’t disappoint. Introducing a number of new summer-ready styles, the brand made reference to their unrivalled heritage whilst fusing contemporary elements in the form of exciting colourways.
GIEVES AND HAWKES

British heritage brand, Gieves and Hawkes, never disappoint when it comes to presenting at LCM. Contemporary art gallery, The White Cube, was their chosen destination this time round and it worked as a fitting backdrop for a company that continues to push the boundaries of what is expected of a Savile Row brand. Their tailoring was of course the highlight, and they made great use of monotone colour palettes, demonstrating just how effective a single tone outfit can be.
KENT & CURWEN,
![kent and curwen - TGJ.02](https://cdn.sanity.io/images/vxy259ii/production/8f6c9494259dc465dbf4cd3702482efce31cf442-660x440.jpg?auto=format&fit=max&q=75&w=648)
Taking place in the achingly cool upstairs area of The Box on The Strand, Kent and Curwen’s SS15 catwalk show was the place to be on the opening morning of day 1 of London Collections:Men. Diverse in every sense of the word, Kent and Curwen’s collection featured everything from sleek tailored wear to minimal outerwear and even the odd striking leather piece. Colour played a big part too, and the Savile Row brand weren’t afraid of mixing in prints in the form of statement white and black splattered trousers, boots and accessories.
HARDY AMIES
Perhaps the most impressive collection of the day, Hardy Amies chose the more modest setting of their Savile Row home for their SS15 presentation. Pastel tones, plaid patterns, suede monkstraps and lightweight scarves made this collection a true standout and best of all, most of the items were extremely wearable.
