Yesterday, February 14th, saw the Hennessey Venom GT set a new world speed record for 2-seat sports cars by reaching at top speed of 270.49 mph (435.31 km/h). Powered by a 7.0-liter twin turbo engine, the car raced to victory over the previous record owner, the Bugatti Veyron which had reached 269 miles per hour.
The lucky man who got to drive the Venom GT at the Kennedy Space Centre Space Shuttle Landing Runway was was Brian Smith, Director of Miller Motorsports Park. The Venom GT was powered with Pennzoil Platinum® with PurePlus™ Technology, a first of its kind synthetic motor oil made from natural gas.
