Words: Hugh Francis Anderson
Harrods, as we all know, is the department store of pure British panache. Founded in 1834, it has reigned king of luxury lifestyle ever since. So it’s little wonder its menswear department has seen a marked rise in recent years, and the celebrate the dominance of men’s design, Harrods Man Cover to Cover has been launched. For the entirety of October, the menswear department will see a complete store takeover, with numerous events to tickle the sartorial fancies of all gentlemen.
To celebrate the opening weekend, Harrods are hosting some amazing events. This Friday you can check out Burberry’s exclusive range made purely for Harrods, and hosted by Jim Chapman. And for the main weekend event, there will be a Made to Measure service running from Friday to Sunday. Focussing on the customisation services, and how to add personality to your footwear, cufflinks, suiting and accessories. Some of the world’s finest menswear brands, including Gieves & Hawkes, Turnbull & Asser and Hardy Amies, to name but a few, will be participating. Master tailors from Italy and Savile Row will be available to advise on the best fits for clothing and the best accessories to be matched with them. And for the adventurous, Paul Smith will host an acrobatic display to show the versatility and usability of his travel suit on Sunday evening for all to attend.
