VIDEO: A gentleman’s guide to bespoke shirtmaking

Turnbull & Asser are one of the most renowned British brands, with an incredible heritage dating back to 1885. The brand’s home in London’s Jermyn Street, as well as their stores in Mayfair and Manhattan, aim to provide each and every gentleman who walks through their doors with expertly handmade clothing and accessories, and a quintessentially English sense of style. Turnbull & Asser are a go-to for superior craftsmanship, particularly when it comes to shirts, and they specialise in both bespoke items and ready-to-wear menswear.

For bespoke shirtmaking in particular, the finest fabrics from the UK and Italy are sourced from renowned mills and then hand-crafted in private factories in England. Each item is made specifically and exclusively for the individual, designed to precise measurements and exclusive fabrics, with the finished product being a one-of-a-kind treasure that will last a lifetime. You’ll have the option of 1,000+ fabrics, 20 monogram styles, various collar linings, and 25 collar and cuff options.

Turnbull & Asser’s bespoke store is located in Bury Street and is headed by retail director Steven Quin, who became the royal warrant holder on 23rd April 1999. Its ownership was passed down to him following the retirement of head cutter Paul Cuss after the brand was bestowed with the honour in 1980.
