Words: Gentleman's Journal

In 1974, Givenchy issued the first edition for its Gentleman fragrance range in what would become the brand’s signature amber bottle. The nose behind the woody fragrance was Paul Leger. Four decades later, the iconic luxury French fashion house has decided to launch a new fragrance which re-interprets the classic gentleman with a robust, masculine scent intended for the modern man. Like its predecessor, the scent is built from bold, woody notes – cedar, patchouli and vetvier and undertones of spicy accords, including green mandarin, pink pepper and nutmeg. Aside from the scent the bottle has a sharp design, taking on the appearance of a hip flask with a gunmetal grey cap. With Simon Baker snapping up the role of Givenchy’s modern-day gent, there’s no denying that this is a fragrance for a man of taste and charm.
