FOOD – THE BURGERS YOU NEED BUT CANNOT HAVE

Every gentleman indulges in a good, meaty burger every now and again. And this is going to be mouth-watering, tear-jerking news to them all. The American chain Shake Shack is celebrating its 10th anniversary by launching a new gourmet menu that will only be available for five days. The famed Shake Shack has roped in five guest chefs that will each deliver their take on the classic burger. Their anniversary menu spans Monday 9th – Friday 13th June, with each guest chef allotted a day each.
THE MENU
First up at the Shake Shack will be Daniel Boulud, the man behind Bar Boulud in New York. Boulud will be plating up a Piggie Shack Burger – a culmination of BBQ pulled pork, mustard-vinegar slaw and jalepeño mayonnaise. Day two will see David Chang’s Momofuku Shrimp Stack – a juicy cheeseburger topped with a shrimp patty, a mysterious Momofuku Hozon sauce, cucumber and pickled onion. Up next for Humpday is Andrew Zimmern’s Az Cabrito Butter Burger, keeping things clean cut and simplistic. He is presenting a goat burger topped with onion, roasted tomato and sweet pickle. An interesting twist on the classic.
Next to debut will be Daniel Humm’s Humm Burger, which is the ultimate luxury burger. Humm will bring celery relish, Applewood smoked bacon, truffle mayo and shavings of fresh black truffle to a classic cheeseburger. Last, but certainly not least, will be April Bloomfield and her Breslin Burger – a burger topped with Applewood smoked bacon and oozing Tickler English Cheddar Cheese sauce. Succulent, melt-in-your-mouth cooking.
The devastating news is that these burgers will only be available in the Madison Square Park chain, which means the New York burger fans got extremely lucky. We’ll definitely be having a go at re-creating these masterpieces ourselves though. If only we knew what Momofuku Hozon sauce was…
