Fleming: The Man Who Created Bond
He is the creator of one of the most famous literary characters of all time. Few have escaped the power of Bond’s charm and ultimate cool factor, eternally impressed by his ability to turn a witty phrase even in the height of crisis, to expertly implement any of his awesome gadgets and to always be a gentleman.
James Bond might be one of the most famous names on the planet, but what of his creator Ian Fleming. Well, with this new 4-part biopic from Sky Atlantic, we will get a little closer to what made the man tick.
The drama, which focuses on his time in WW2, has been “sexed up at times” reveals director Mat Whitecross. “Fleming spent a lot of time desk-bound, which doesn’t make great drama. But in fact he did get out in the field, he did get to Germany, he did go out to France and so on, but, yeah, he didn’t actually have any fisticuffs with any Nazis. But it felt like it would be cool if he did…”
The drama stars Dominic Cooper and Sherlock’s Lara Pulver and taking a look at the trailer, Fleming is set to be full of drama, style and glamour. Sound familiar?
