A lot was expected from Savile Row Heavyweight Richard James in his spring summer collection, we are pleased to say that he delivered in bucket loads.
The Journal got an exclusive backstage preview of the pieces that make next years collection so unique. The inspiration was ‘Urban Fete’, think Vivid colour, British celebration and the seaside.
The show was styled by GQ’s Creative Fashion Director Jo Levin, who matched bright and neutral colour tones perfectly. Hair was done by no less then Tyler Johnson, who said he opted for a groomed Mad Men look meets rock ‘n roll.
The key pieces for us were the bright coloured sparkle slippers, which contrasted so well with the neutral oversized Prince of Wales checks. The tie’s matched the bright colours of the slippers, however much less vivid to ensure the outfit worked well together.
His Swimwear collection displayed some great detailed paisley prints that were put together with bright coloured zip cardigans, these have been made with cool wool that allows the item to breathe naturally and effectively.
Richard James has yet again brought fun and colour to the traditional, and whats more making everything wearable. We echo Tinie Tempah’s thoughts on the collection ‘perfect’. richardjames.co.uk
