Words: Jonathan Wells
The multivitamin is not what you remember. What was once a swiftly-swallowed afterthought is now key to living your best life — and unlocking your body’s full potential. Supplements have been reformed, refined and targeted to specific groups, ages and needs. What was chalky is now chewy, droppable or drinkable. There are even spritzable supplements that can be absorbed through your skin.
But, in a world of countless capsules and gummies, where should you start? We’ve tried and tested a handful of these new-world supplements and discovered our favourites — from a Magnesium-enriched spray to CBD-infused vitamin drops. So, if you too are looking to supercharge your 2023, these are the best male-targeted supplements on the market…
Lumity Morning & Night Male Supplement
Who should take them? These brightly-coloured capsules are billed as ‘anti-ageing’ supplements. But they’ll work wonders for anybody. Working to improve cognitive function, they’re perfect for those who work demanding hours.
What’s in them? The ‘Morning’ supplements include Vitamin D, Potassium, Turmeric, Zinc, Magnesium and Flaxseed Oil. The sleep-boosting ‘Night’ supplements are formulated with Glutamine, Taurine and Pumpkin Seed Oil.
How do you use them? Take four soft-gels with a glass of water to start your day, and four soft-gels at the end of the day. It may seem like a lot, but there’s much to be done if you want to whip your body into tip-top shape.

Seed ‘DS-01' Daily Synbiotic
Who should take them? Any adults looking to supercharge their digestive systems. Supporting gut health and easing gastrointestinal discomfort, these prebiotic/probiotic capsules also help bolster your immune system.
What’s in them? The outer capsule contains ‘punicalagins’ concentrated from Indian pomegranate (to boost your metabolism) and the inner capsule, which can survive stomach acid, bile salts and digestive enzymes, delivers 24 strains of helpful bacteria to your gut.
How do you use them? Take two capsules daily, all at once. Preferably on an empty stomach — to limit exposure to potentially damaging enzymes and bile in your stomach. Although, if more comfortable, you can take with food.
The Nue Co. 'Magnesium Ease'
Who should use it? People struggling with sleep, or those of you who don’t know when to stop in the gym. The Nue Co.’s ‘Magnesium Ease’ is a spray rather than a supplement — but every spritz has its benefits.
What’s in it? Magnesium — and lots of it (over 20mg per spray). 80% of us lack the mineral, so The Nue Co.’s spritzable supplement combines Magnesium with Lavender and Arnica Oil for a one-two-three punch of stress-relieving, sleep-inducing goodness.
How do you use it? Spray directly onto clean, dry skin — and massage in. The brand recommends three sprays at any one time, applied either before bed, after a vigorous workout, or whenever you need to relax.

Performance Lab NutriGenesis Multi for Men
Who should take them? Vegans. These meticulously balanced supplements mean business — but have been formulated with natural, vegan-friendly ingredients. They’ve also been unique calibrated for men’s specific nutritional needs (the corresponding pink bottle is for women).
What’s in them? The usual cohort of vitamins, but also some minerals less-often found in supplements. Niacin for your nervous system, Maganese for your metabolism, Selenium for your immune system and even Copper to maintain healthy bones.
How do you use them? For full foundational support, the brand suggests taking four capsules every day; two in the morning, and two before bed. If your diet takes a dip, however, you can up this dosage to six per day.

OTO Power Drops
Who should take them? People suffering from stress. OTO’s ‘Power Drops’ are another non-traditional supplement; taking the easily-ingested form of handy drops. Perfect for men-on-the-go.
What’s in them? A choice selection of vitamins (C, D3, E) and some natural oils (Orange, Grapefruit). But the star here is CBD; with each dose delivering around 40mg of the anxiety-reducing, pain-killing chemical compound.
How do you use them? Simply shake the bottle well, before releasing the dropper — with the simple push of a button — under your tongue. Hold the drops in your mouth for 30 seconds, during which they’ll be quickly absorbed.

Anatomē Men’s Daily Essentials and Immune Support
Who should take them? Those who already lead a healthy life — but are looking to fine-tune it even further. Anatomē’s ‘Men’s Daily Essentials’ supplements are a veritable buffet of goodness, and will top-up and tweak your body’s existing levels of vitamins and minerals so you can be your very best.
What’s in them? What’s not in them? As well as an entire alphabet of vitamins, these supplements make room for Boron, Chromium, Iodine, Iron, Calcium, Choline, Betanine and acids from Folic to Para Aminobenzoic (quite the mouthful for such a tiny capsule).
How do you use them? They may be stuffed with endless ingredients, but Anatomē’s male-specific supplements are among the easiest to use. One per day, after breakfast, with a glass of water. Simple.

Wellman Gummies
Who should take them? Every single one of us, if David Gandy had his way. Endorsed by the male model for years, these simple, chewable gummies will have you looking (and feeling) the picture of health in no time.
What’s in them? Most interestingly, a good deal of Zinc. It’s a mineral that helps maintain healthy testosterone levels in your blood — which makes these perfect for men. Also Siberian Ginseng, Folic Acid and Citrus Bioflavonoids.
How do you use them? Chew up to three gummies per day alongside a substantial meal. This way, the vitamins — from Niacin to Thiamin — will work to supercharge your naturally-ingested nutrients.

Manual ‘Strength' Vitamins
Who should take them? Those of you feeling a little weak. These supplements, created by men’s healthcare brand Manual, do exactly what they say on the bold blue bottle; support and strengthen muscles and bones.
What’s in them? Chiefly, Vitamin D. The ‘Sunshine Vitamin’ is needed to help the body absorb calcium and phosphates from our diets, and these supplements act as catalyst — allowing your body to access and harness every vitamin and mineral in your wider diet.
How do you use them? Another simple one; swallow one tablet daily, with water.
