Words: Chris Cotonou
We’re all trying to get into the rhythm of things again, aren’t we? Work is once again a priority; the days are getting shorter and we find ourselves reaching for the wardrobe essentials that make us most comfortable. But the London Film Festival and Frieze is here too! Art and creativity is permeating our Instagram feeds—keeping us inspired with new ideas and fresh aesthetics. So why not freshen up your gear with some creativity, too? This week, we’re looking at classic items that have that little added extra—from Leica’s innovative instant camera, to a spruced up Seiko icon, On’s collaboration with Loewe, and much more.
Seiko Prospex Landmaster 30th Anniversary Limited Edition
Limited to just one-thousand pieces, this 30th Anniversary edition commemorates the much-loved Landmaster field watch—first designed in 1993 for adventurers to wear on the move. The details have been dialled up from the original, with modernised high performance materials and lightweight titanium. There’s a compass, an in-house movement, and so much more. But we especially like how versatile it is when worn between your weekend hike in the country, and as a sporty, and ever-reliable accessory with a suit.

Maddox Gallery x Haaland, by David Yarrow
Every era has its sporting icons photographed in tremendous, dramatic fashion, from Ali to Beckham, and the man of the moment is undoubtedly Manchester City’s Norwegian goal machine Erling Haaland. Artist David Yarrow spent time with Haaland in his home country, where he captured the star’s Nordic, Viking roots (who else could make it look so natural?) and physical presence. Not only does it capture the superstar in a way he’s never seen before, but all profits go directly to charity.

Talisker Vintage 1976
Directly from the latest in Diageo’s hand-curated Prima and Ultima collection of rare and collectible vintage single malt scotch whiskies, comes the Talisker distillery's oldest-ever release. It was crafted in the midst of a once in a lifetime heatwave in Scotland, which made the stills run hot and increased copper contact, creating a whisky with a distinct, complex, and rare palette. The top notes are backed by a salty sea-breeze, and it remains an incredible find for any collector to keep, or better yet drink, as we settle into a crisp autumn.

Nothing really beats holding those preserved special moments in your hands.
