Words: Gentleman's Journal
Cartier celebrated the opening of Cartier in Motion, an evening in presence of Cyrille Vigneron (President & CEO of Cartier International) and Sir Norman Foster on Wednesday 24TH May 2017 at the London Design Museum.
The event was a celebration of the incredible Cartier in Motion exhibition that’s open now on the 3rd floor of the Design Museum on High Street Kensington in London, curated by Lord Norman Foster and director of the Design Museum, Deyan Sudjic.
In telling the story of Cartier watchmaking and the invention of the modern wristwatch, Foster factors in the determining role of the sea change in society at the turn of the 20th century. Amidst upheavals in art, architecture, travel and lifestyles, the traces of a new world could be glimpsed. Visit the exhibition today at The Design Museum and visit Cartier here.
Notable attendees included: Cyrille Vigneron, Sir Norman Foster, Laurent Feniou, Martha Hunt, Jim Chapman, Roksanda Illincic, Caroline Issa, Kim Hersov, Sandra Choi, and many more…
Laurent Feniou, Managing Director of Cariter says: “We are delighted to hold “Cartier in Motion” Curated by Norman Foster, in the newly opened and iconic London Design Museum. London is a city which is so creative and inventive, it is wonderful to share Cartier’s extraordinary innovation and craftsmanship and draw the parallels between the development of a watch and the architectural and product design within a city that echoes these values. Cartier has always been more than just a jewellery brand, it is a house of values, tradition, and spirit and while our history is what drives us to tell our stories, we are excited to have the opportunity to share this with everyone.”
