The Gentleman’s Journal was lucky enough to attend the soiree extraordinaire at the Grey Goose Fly Beyond Bar last week. The secret bar, located behind a mundane looking bakery on Shaftsbury Avenue was unveiled in recognition of Mâitre de Chai François Thibault’s historical decision to create ‘a luxury vodka with taste’ in Cognac – against all the odds.

The Fly Beyond party was full of beautiful people, luxury cocktails and incredible food. Guests were spoilt for choice as they entered the Boulangerie François, (the Grey Goose artisan bakery which opened to the public for an exclusive three days), guests were led beyond the ‘oven door’ to a secret cocktail bar.

The enormous bar was helmed by an array of London’s best mixologists, creating 5 different Grey Goose cocktails. As we sipped on the Grey Goose signature Le Fizz, the likes of Dominic cooper, Jeremy Irvine and Jasmine Guinness enjoyed the other bespoke creations such as the Aviation et Sal and Dom La Poire.

Classic French dishes from the Grey Goose Fly Beyond Menu, such as perfectly arranged chicken parfait with plum and toasted brioche, langoustine tail and crab salad, not to mention the irresistible bite sized desert plates of macaroons and chocolate éclairs, were hand delivered upon request by a host of dapper waiters.

Among the buzzing atmosphere were other celebrity guests such as model Lily Cole, Mr Hudson, Tinchy Styder and Nick Hendrix. A thoroughly enjoyable evening, the room was still full even into the early hours of the morning, as guests reluctantly poured onto the streets clutching gift bags with Grey Goose bread rolls, mini jams and, of course, a bottle of Grey Goose.
