A thirteenth century castle in Bavaria. A prince. A horse. No, this isn’t the setting for the latest vampire-themed TV series but rather where British Polo Day, presented by Land Rover, held their most recent event. Wallerstein Castle was the backdrop to a day of polo, sunshine and royalty. The Royal House of Oettingen-Wallerstein has been involved with equestrian pursuits since (almost) the dawn of time. It wasn’t just the polo though – there was also a party in the luxe atmosphere of Hackett Munich followed by a private dinner in The Charles Hotel. Guests included the polo player Charlie Hanbury – complete with a crutch – and his lovely girlfriend YoAnna Otto, the daughter of Princess Anna zu Oettingen-Wallerstein. Lady Violet Manners sipped Pimms and Lord Clifton Wrottesley showed off his new cufflinks. Meanwhile the gorgeous Luissi sisters Nina and Danielle were fragrantly Italian and Victoria Madeley got down to some serious dancing. Our verdict? Polo is as much fun off the field as on it.
