Diary – Oliver Proudlock for Oliver Sweeney launch

Words: Violet

Harvey Nichols hosted a sole-ful soiree last night to celebrate Oliver Proudlock’s debut shoe collection in collaboration with Oliver Sweeney. The evening saw ‘Puggy’ and Lucy Watson sipping on bubbly, while Proudlock and his ponytail greeted a room bursting with guests eager to see his leopard skin high-tops. The collection features four shoes, reflecting the Made in Chelsea star’s cool and effortless style.

Oliver Sweeney is a relatively young brand, established in 1989 but it’s intensive scientific approach to shoemaking and the ultimate fit is based on many more years of experience. It’s one step ahead of the rest in creating the ‘Anatomical Last’ a trademarked mould sculpted to mimic the profile of the human foot – giving support to the arch, the instep points to the big toe. A chiropodist and fashion brand in one! Here’s a short blast of Sweeney’s ethos. Finest Italian leathers (even occasionally stingray and eel), a 20-year-old family run factory on the Adriatic coast, lime green inner soles, kangaroo leather piping and Gianni (their own pattern cutter with 25 years of experience and a remarkable beard).

Back to the fun..Proudlock’s friends Ella Catitliff and Rosie Fortesque had a pose off while Rick Edwards enjoyed live acts Mikill Pane and Matt Wood.

Boi’s done good!
