These are the finest Coronation-commemoration products and experiences
From a splash of sparkling wine to premium sartorial accessories, here are our favourite homages to the landmark day
Words: Josh Lee
In under two weeks, Britain will see the formal confirmation of a new monarch, with a heavily gilded, heavy-velvet curtain being lifted on a new era. There will be royals by the carriageload, great flashes of robes, regalia and pageantry, the high-decibel rhythms of gospel singers, and columns dedicated to the styles of the day. And though most out there won’t be able to step inside the great corridors of Westminster Abbey to observe history taking place, there is still ample opportunity to celebrate the landmark day with some limited-edition, Coronation-honouring keepsakes, items and experiences. Here’s a handful of our favourites…
Nyetimber, Coronation Classic Cuvee
A toast to Britain’s new era can come courtesy of Nyetimber, GJ’s go-to for English sparkling wines. The Classic Cuvee is the label’s signature libation – a considered medley of Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, and Pinot Meunier – and the bottle from which it is poured features graphics that take their design cues from royal uniforms and garments.

Fortnum & Mason, Coronation Afternoon Tea
For those seeking sustenance, we’d also nudge you towards Fortnum & Mason – the royal-warrant holder whose blue-hued packaging is found in pantries across the nation – for its Coronation-edition of afternoon tea, that most traditional of uppercrust pastimes. The spread runs the British-fare gamut from coronation lobster to a spread of finger sandwiches (salt beef with kohlrabi and tarragon-horseradish-sour-cream dressing; and Cotswold Legbar egg mayonnaise among them), a wild-mushroom éclair, plain and fruit scones slathered in clotted cream, lemon curd or strawberry preserve, and intricate desserts.
Johnstons of Elgin, The Coronation Collection Cashmere Scarf
With the conditions, in typically British style, remaining pretty grey, consider wrapping up with this dour-weather essential, which has been crafted in cashmere and features an official blue-and-red emblem that marks the coronation. The design by Sir Jony Ive showcases the former Apple creative’s penchant for pared-down aesthetics.

Hackett, King Charles Coronation Pocket Square
Featuring a more throwback aesthetic than the piece above, Hackett’s offering, which is defined by its hand-printed, draughtsman-like quality, has taken its influence from the charming style of vintage pocket squares. The wool-silk blend lends it a fine touch, and all profits will be donated to a pair of charities that have been chosen by His Majesty.

Deakin & Francis, Sterling Silver Coronation Cufflinks
If you’re dressing up for the day, make a subtle nod to the occasion with these understated-yet-premium cufflinks. Deakin & Francis, considered a pioneer in its field, offers several colours and styles, but we’re advocates of these elegant rectangular options in blue, which showcase the king’s cypher and have been produced via the vitreous enamelling method, a rarely used process whereby up to six layers of powdered glass are applied, by the hands of a craftsperson, to each piece.

Linley Coronation Box
Done out in robust lines, a walnut construction and a deep-purple lid (which showcases King Charles III’s silhouette, a marquetry design of a crown, and ‘CIIIR 2023’), Linley’s keepsake box makes for a perfect stowaway location for your cufflinks.

Royal Salute, The Coronation Of King Charles III Edition
End a day of bacchanalian feasting and drinking with something stiff. Royal Salute, which was first created as a present to Queen Elizabeth, for her coronation 70 years ago, is a fitting option, and its new, limited-edition bottling comprises a blend of over 53 rare malt and grain whiskies, with notes of redcurrants that fade into strawberry jam, banoffee pie, and a vibrant kick of fresh ginger.
Asprey, His Majesty King Charles III Coronation Lion Decanter
Well, you’re going to have to decant your whisky into something, right?
