The controversial fashion trends we approve of
Words: Alex Woodhall
Fashion flows in circles and whilst style is the far superior being, without a degree of awareness of the industry, it remains a difficult being to truly get a handle on. As the seasons go by and the industry conjures up new (and old) trends for us to try and ham-handedly work into our wardrobe – certain ones are more deserving of making the cut, however controversial. These three particularly have a place to play in the modern, stylishly inclined gentleman’s wardrobe.
Baseball caps

Hold fire on the Facebook comment vitriol just for a second. We’re not talking drug-dealer staples or 50 Cent fitted caps emblazoned with the NY Yankees logo here, but functional, curved-peaked caps that serve a purpose.
Dressed up in luxury materials or just plain old cotton, the baseball cap is having some time in the sun. Keep it simple and strictly casual and the cap remains the perfect coverup come a glimpse of the summer sun.
To stay on the correct side of stylish, pair your headwear with a relaxed shirt, jumper and chino combination – no sportswear, hoodies, tracksuits or wearing it any other way than frontwards to avoid looking like you’re selling a few ounces on the side.
