Cicchetti Covent Garden Restaurant Review

The latest venture from the San Carlo group is a resounding success. Nestled in the bustling streets of Covent Garden, Cicchetti is an authentic and traditional addition to the area.
‘Cicchetti’ meaning ‘small plates’ allows the customer to get a truly unique and diverse taste of Venetian Italy. Refreshingly, each plate arrives steaming from the kitchen, just as soon as it is ready. The consistent stream of delicious foods provided a new experience, meaning you’re never left waiting for your food for long.
Leaving all decisions of mine, and my guest’s, to the capable team and accomplished kitchen, the plates on offer certainly did not disappoint. We started off with what was undoubtedly the best burrata I had ever tasted and the surprising addition of truffle was well received by all! Followed by a somewhat Italian mezze of dishes including a sensational lobster linguine as well as the probably the most tender braised beef I have had in years. To round off the scrumptious selection my guest and I were treated to a tasting plate of all of their desserts, luxurious and decadent sure, but ridiculously filling, I couldn’t face a proper meal for days! Unless you are an accomplished sommelier gents, another must is requesting assistance from the expertly trained waiting team as their choices of delicious wines were on point.
The restaurant itself consists of a charming deli-style entrance that opens up into a huge and decadent dining area. The staff, not only all Italian but extremely knowledgeable on the cuisine, were hugely helpful as well as welcoming.
Cicchetti is truly spectacular and you would be hard pushed to find a more authentic Italian restaurant in central London.
