Church's launches the Chetwynd Contour with Harry Lawtey and Dustin Hoffman

Church's came to London to launch the latest shoe in its growing family: the Chetwynd Contour

Words: Zak Maoui

Church's, the Northamptonshire shoemaker, loves to surprise us with a new style. During Milan Fashion Week in January, the brand unveiled the newest releases, one of which is the Chetwynd Contour.

The new shoe offers the perfect blend of tradition and modern innovation, combining the expertise of Church's master shoemakers from Northampton with cutting-edge high-frequency manufacturing process. A fresh spin on an old favourite in the Church's roster of shoes, it a modern update to the brand’s wingtip style. The Chetwynd Contour pairs the past and present, and mingles Church’s classic Goodyear welted signature 173 last with a new construction made using electromagnetic waves with the classic Goodyear. This fine engraving reimagines the classic brogue detailing and creates the traditional embossed brogue patterns on thicker leather uppers. The result is a more contemporary take on a classic. The leather shoes come in black, blue and wood - a subtle green hue -, while superbuck suede version comes in brown.

And last week Church's officially added the Chetwynd Contour to its growing family of footwear with one of its big signature parties in London. Hosted down at the newly-revamped Tramp, the event kicked off in true Church's fashion with cocktails in Jackie’s Lounge, followed by an intimate dinner in the setting of The Society dining room, where guests dined under a glittering astrological ceiling.
