The Chapar are redefining how we shop
Words: Charlie Thomas
It wasn’t that long ago that we had to travel in order to purchase things. The gentlemen of yesteryear would have to make their way to individual stores that specialised in a particular field, taking up much time and effort. In order to purchase an outfit he must visit numerous stores all selling different aspects of the ensemble. Whilst this was a much more personal way of shopping – relationships could easily be formed between customer and vendor – it was somewhat old-fashioned, especially after department stores came along.
All of this was turned on its head though when the internet took over. Now, the modern man doesn’t even have to leave his armchair to buy a new suit, as his measurements can be taken online and the suit delivered to his door the next day. The Chapar are developing on this idea even further though, making shopping an effortless yet rewarding experience. Think of The Chapar as one of those too-good-to-true sounding steroid deals. The process requires minimum effort, yet it yields maximum results.
The Chapar is, essentially, an online shopping service. Except you don’t actually choose, or even see the clothes before you order. You first of all fill out an interactive questionnaire online, which takes less than five minutes. Then, after entering your contact details, one of the team’s talented personal stylists will phone you up, asking you more detailed questions about your personal style, what you like to wear and if there are any particular aspects of your wardrobe you’d like to grow. This is quite literally all you have to do. A few days later a large trunk will turn up at home or work, and inside awaits a selection of clothes for you to try, and if you like, keep.
The whole service is a breeze and every step, from the questions you have to fill out online, to the engaging phone conversation with the friendly personal stylist, is effortless and rewarding. Perhaps the best thing about The Chapar though, is that if you don’t get on with any of the garments, you can simply send them back for free. After arranging a time and date via email, the unwanted clothes can be collected. It really is that simple.
The Chapar have a whole heap load of renowned brands on board including Sunspel, Brooks Brothers, Converse, Edwin, Hackett, John Smedley, Levi’s, Loake and many more. If you don’t enjoy shopping, you’re looking to re-invent your personal style or you’re just stuck for inspiration, then this innovative new service may well be for you.
