Celebrate Father’s Day with this well-heeled deal from R.M.Williams
As the Australian brand reaches its 90th anniversary, you’re invited to the bootmaker's New Bond Street store for a complimentary boot shine...
This year, Australian bootmaker R.M.Williams has been designing durable, dependable footwear for nine long, high-stepping decades. And the heritage brand is celebrating with a weekend of special Father’s Day deals and in-store events.
So, if you want to treat your father (and his feet) this Father’s Day, simply head down to R.M.Williams on London’s New Bond Street — and you’ll be offered both a bespoke ‘Boot Shine’ and a free gift with the purchase of any pair. What’s more, to coincide with the brand’s 90th anniversary, you can buy a limited-edition pair of ‘Craftsman’ boots; complete with exclusive trims and a commemorative plaque.
A pair of R.M.Williams boots will make the ideal present for Father’s Day, and are the best way to celebrate the Australian brand’s enduring legacy. Handcrafted from premium leather, they’ll pair perfectly with a bag, belt or wallet — all expertly made and designed to last. What’s more, after you order a pair of boots in store for your father, you can head home and browse the wider R.M.Williams collection. Because, to further mark its birthday, the brand has launched a capsule collection online — ideal for summer styling.
Born in the South Australian bush, namesake Reginald Murray Williams created his first elastic-sided leather boot in 1932. It soon gained popularity, and became a cornerstone of workers’ wardrobes across the outback. And, while the brand had begun as only a mail-order business, increasing popularity in the mid-1930s demanded the establishment of a full workshop.
Today, the brand is based in northern Adelaide, where hundreds of highly skilled craftspeople push on with the good work RM began — continuing in the creation of a range of handcrafted leather apparel and accessories, from boots and bags to belts.
But Chelseas are still the best-selling boots. Cut from a single piece of hardwearing leather, fitted with Goodyear-welted soles and finished with a classic squared chisel toe, these iconic boots are as comfortable as they are functional — and are as simple to care for as they are to slip on every day.
You must only lightly clean your traditional boots with a damp cloth and they’ll last for years to come (a dab of the brand’s ‘Stockman’s Natural Boot Polish’ won’t go amiss, either). Thankfully, this weekend (Friday 17th and Saturday 18th June), R.M.Williams is creating a moment of craft for London-based fathers and fans of the brand alike.
At the New Bond Street store, customers will be offered a bespoke ‘Boot Shine’ service — and every in-store boot order will see you gifted either a free suede cleaner and suede protector or free leather polish conditioner.
Crafted by hand in the brand’s Adelaide workshop, the boots come complete with limited-edition tugs, flat heels and nine finely-stitched decades of bootmaking prowess seamed into every step.
There’s no better gift for your father, no better boot for his feet and no better way to dip your toe, heel and sole into the legendary legacy of this rugged, rough and ready Australian brand.
