Words: Gentleman's Journal
Bugatti has released its latest offering, the Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport Vitesse. In case you are wondering the word Vitesse comes from its French heritage and is French for ‘speed’.
Essentially this car is a cross between the open-top body of the Veyron Grand Sport and the incredible 1183bhp power train of the Veyron Super Sport. The Vitesse is quite possibly the world’s fastest convertible and like all Veyron’s it has the same 8.0–litre engine.
However the Vitesse has had the same tweaks as the Veyron Super Sport. This means it has enlarged turbochargers, bigger intercoolers, a modified chassis and a tweaked aerodynamic package. All these tweaks mean it has 1184bhp at 6400rpm, mirroring the Super Sport.
The latest model has yet again redefined what is technically possible and although the French manufacturer hasn’t specified any 0-62mph yet, you can expect it to be in the region of 2.5 seconds. In terms of price, which has yet to be released, we expect that you won’t get much change back from £2 million. bugatti.com
