Last year, Bill Gates had a net-worth of a whopping $85 billion. And recently it’s been reported that if his wealth appreciates at the rate of return that it has done over the last decade, he could be worth a trillion dollars by the time he’s 86.
Although he left full-time work at Microsoft in 2006 to work full-time on the Bill and Melinda Gates foundation, his wealth doubled between 2009 and 2014. Despite his best attempts to give away a huge chunk of his fortune ($28 billion and counting) to charities all over the world, he’s continuously on the top of every single rich-list out there. His fortune will only continue to rise, so if his investments carry on making the return that they have been.
So, gentlemen, it could well be that in a mere 25 years we are in the midst of the world’s first trillionaire – an accolade that many will attempt to reach in their life, but that very few ever will.
