The best dressed gentlemen at Cannes so far
Cannes Film Festival: a 10 day extravaganza that sees some of the world’s most recognised gentlemen and women step into the limelight once again on red carpet after red carpet and event after event. While the 69th annual festival is still in full force with the rest of this week left to impress, we so far haven’t been disappointed by the incredible array of black tie, suits and more casual outfits. Gentlemen from Chris Pine and Ryan Gosling to Oliver Cheshire have impressed on a massive scale, wearing the likes of Giorgio Armani and Gucci, to name a few. Here are the best dressed men of Cannes 2016:
Justin Timberlake
Why it works: If there was ever an award for the perfect all-rounder, Timberlake would win it every single time. Managing to pull off black tie in a way that keeps you looking as calm and collected as you would in jeans and a t shirt is no mean feat, but Timberlake nails it.
Chris Pine

Why it works: This is how to wear a suit in the summer. It’s a tricky one to get right, but this incredible Giorgio Armani suit is doing Pine all kinds of favours. Colour, the fabric, the double-breast: it just works.

Why it works: Black tie at Cannes means that all eyes are going to be on you, but when you’re Chris Pine wearing Giorgio Armani, you’re pretty set on making a very fast move to the top of every best dressed list there is.
Ryan Gosling
Why is works: If you’re looking to step outside the box and start doing black tie a little differently, this is how to do it. By adding the incredible cream Ralph Lauren Purple Label jacket with navy black tie trousers, Gosling is putting the perfect spin on both black and white tie and has absolutely nailed it.
Why it works: With a slight nod to 70s fashion with the undone, striped Gucci shirt, Gosling manages to do casual at Cannes like a total gentleman. Make like him and mix up your smart, sharp suit with you casual, flowing shirt for an incredible summer look.
Mark Rylance

Why it works: This is exactly why you shouldn’t ignore the hat – Rylance demonstrates exactly how to pull off the trilby while remaining the ultimate gentleman. Adding a pop of colour with the red tie is the perfect way to mix things up, too.
Matt Bomer

Why it works: If you still needed convincing that the white trouser wasn’t a total write-off, Bomer should have convinced you by now. His outfit is the perfect hybrid between smart and causal, with the matching white of his shoes, trousers and shirt acting as the perfect gateway to the ultimate summer wardrobe.
Shia LeBeouf
Why it works: A huge part of why this works is because we are massively surprised at how LaBeouf has come out of the woodwork and worn this killer outfit, as if it’s something that he pulls off everyday of the week. The tailored trousers, buttoned-up shirt and no sock look shouldn’t normally work, but here it definitely does.
