But before you start beaming your way around town, it’s time to make sure your pearly whites are just that…white. So follow our quick guide to keeping your teeth white.
USE A GOOD TOOTHBRUSH, TOOTHPASTE & MOUTHWASH , That small pop up brush you got on the last business flight you took just won’t cut it. Invest in a proper electric toothbrush, good whitening toothpaste and an alcohol free mouthwash.
CLEAN YOUR TOUNGE & THE ROOF OF YOUR MOUTH, For fresher breath and a healthier mouth, don’t forget to brush the roof of your mouth and your tongue, and then rinse your mouth out with water. Rinse your toothbrush in warm water and proceed to brush again gently without additional toothpaste.
FLOSS, We know it’s a bore, but trust us it’s worth the hassle, and it means no more lying to your hygienist!
STAY HYDRATED, Drink as much water as you can throughout the day for whiter, brighter teeth.
DRINK TEA, Flavonoids and various other ingredients in tea have been proven to prevent harmful bacteria from sticking to your teeth, and also stop the production of a type of sugar that contributes to cavities.
EAT TEETH CLEANING FOOD, Apples, celery, carrots etc all benefit your teeth.
IF AT ALL POSSIBLE…AVOID RED WINE & COFFEE, We know it’s tough, but these are the worst for staining your teeth – if you must drink coffee in the morning then try using a straw instead.
SWILLING WITH COCONUT OIL, A spoonful of coconut oil will melt in your mouth, try and use it like a mouthwash, but for 10 – 15 minutes. Whilst it’s quite a labour of love, it pulls all the bacteria off your teeth and with consistent use can really brighten your teeth.
