A gentleman’s essential: Leica M-P ‘Correspondent’ by Lenny Kravitz

Leica don’t often do collaborations, but when they do, they don’t mess about. The Leica M-P ‘Correspondent’ set has been created by Lenny Kravitz for Kravitz design, and it’s every bit as special as you might imagine.

Made up of a Leica M-P digital rangefinder camera and two lenses; a Leica Summicron-M 35mm and a Summilux-M 50mm, the set comes complete in a bespoke leather case. Separating this from the rest though is the vintage finish, reminiscent of a camera that has gone through years of use.

Although it might seem like an unusual pairing at first, collaborating with Lenny Kravitz makes a lot of sense. A prolific musician, his attention to detail is immediately apparent when looking at his stage outfits and listening to his critically acclaimed music. He’s also extremely passionate about photography, having used his father’s Leicaflex from a young age.

The Leica M-P Correspondent is directly inspired by this very camera. The black enamel finishing has been meticulously aged to replicate a camera that has experienced years of wear, giving it a vintage look without the wear and tear. In addition to this, the trim of the camera itself is made from hard-wearing snakeskin, with the camera and wrist straps finished in a glossy version.
