I’m sure you’re already aware, but Steve McQueen was known as “The King of Cool” during his cinema reign of the 1970s, and this meant, rather enviably, that he could wear whatever he wanted and still look good. That said, for the most part his outfit choices were sublime and he perfectly channeled an effortlessly cool Ivy League look wherever he went. He also, along with a certain Paul Newman, helped to make trainers cool, with McQueen himself favouring the Converse variety.
