5 Characteristics Multi-Millionaires Share

Words: Guy Aubrey Devito

They’re rich, we know that much, but aside from that what qualities do they share? What sets them apart from the normal folk? How did they make all that money? These are the five characteristics all multi-millionaires share.

Fastidiousness

Freud used the term ‘anal retentive’ to describe those who were obsessed with the very smallest details, although most successful millionaires would probably refer to themselves as fastidious or meticulous instead. Steve Jobs, Conrad Hilton, Howard Hughes and Karl Albrecht were all ridiculously fastidious people – Hughes to the point of illness. It seems that this attention to detail is common amongst the very wealthy.

Insomnia

Very driven people including multi-millionaires are often unable to switch off. Insomnia has therefore been a recurrent problem reported by the very wealthy. In China this is a real problem and has resulted in a new obsession with healthy living, which has been de rigueur in the West for a few years now. It seems that multi-millionaires have this problem by overworking to the detriment of their health.,

Foresight

Nobody can predict the future, but multi-millionaires are better than most at having a stab at it. Anticipating events, the actions of others and pitfalls is an astonishing talent and most multi-millionaires can draw on their incredible foresight and sentience, using it in everyday business dealings.

Charm

Although many multi-millionaires are far from great charmers, many are and some are famous for their good nature. Charm goes a long way in the business arena and many of the most wealthy have a certain aura about them. Most multi-millionaires didn’t start with much – it was their front, their charm, their joie de vivre that got them noticed and got others to think that they were more important than they actually were.

Objectivity

Many of us are only able to form opinions based on our own feelings and experiences, rendering us unable to see the viewpoint of others. Most multi-millionaires are great pragmatists and can see the bigger picture; they are always the most unbiased people and tend to be ahead of their time in terms of viewpoints. This objectivity may sometimes come across as coldness, but not being influenced by the petty day-to-day minutiae of life and thinking bigger can only be a good thing.
