Yes the Brazilians are known for the bodies and Americans for the mega watt smiles, but we here at The Gentleman’s Journal appreciate our homegrown talent just as much- if not more. Here we take a look at a spectacular bounty of British beauties flying the flag around the world.
ROSIE HUNTINGTON-WHITELEY
It probably doesn’t get more perfect than Rosie Huntington-Whiteley. We first saw her in a Levi’s jeans commercial when she was just 16 and, since then, she has become most known for her lingerie work in Victoria’s Secret, Agent Provocateur as well as Burberry. She also took over from Megan Fox as the lead female role in the Transformers: Dark of the Moon.
JOURDAN DUNN
This stunning 23-year old Londoner is making waves in the industry and it is not hard to see why. Not only has she modelled for Valentino and Louis Vuitton, you may remember her from her stint of the Victoria Secret catwalk last year. She was also the first black model to walk for Prada since Naomi Campbell. Oh and she loves a good curry.. that’s our kind of girl.
SUKI WATERHOUSE
This model/actress has a distinctive yet beautiful tomboy look that we can’t get enough of. Notably, she has modelled for H&M, Pepe Jeans and Burberry as well as appearing on the covers of Tatler, Elle UK and 1883 Magazine. What’s more, she has got a penchant for a famous fellow and has dated Miles Kane, Kooks frontman Luke Prichard and, most recently, Bradley Cooper. Sorry guys.
LILY DONALDSON
As with all of the models on our list, Lily was scouted when she was just a teenager. Now 27, she has modelled for fashion houses including Max Mara, Dior, Jil Sander, Dolce and Gabbana, Victoria’s Secret and, of course, Burberry. She recieved a special honour in 2012 when she was selected as one of the eight models to feature in the Summer Olympics Closing Ceremony.
CHARLOTTE WIGGINS
The newest and most up and coming model on our list, the 20-year old Liverpudlian was discovered while out shopping with her friends. Her classic, willowy look earned her a place as one of the new faces of the iconic British brand, Burberry, featuring in their campaign as well as appearing in their fashion shows. She has also appeared on the catwalk of Stella McCartney, Celine and Dolce and Gabbana.
