This summer, we look at three of the best yachts you can charter. With their exquisite designs that ooze opulence, these yachts are irresistible for cruising around the Mediterranean. And if you don’t get a chance in the summer, they’re always great for a winter away in the Maldives or the Caribbean.
MOONLIGHT II
The Moonlight II is one of the most supreme yachts available, sleeping up to 36 guests. She has an incredible five decks, with a helipad that converts into a circular sunbathing terrace, and a jacuzzi surrounded by sun beds. Built in 2004/5 by Neorion Syros Shipyards, this 271.9 foot long mega yacht has a cruising speed which reaches 14 knots . The Moonlight II comes complete with scuba equipment, kayaks, windsurfers, water skis, fishing tackle, water proof cameras and scuba scooters to ensure there is something for everyone. This is the perfect yacht for entertaining, with both luxurious spaces for parties as well as more intimate, private areas for calm nights at sea.

UTOPIA
Slightly on the smaller side is the Utopia, a Feadship yacht packed with the most modern technology on the market. To date, Utopia is the largest of her class to be launched, and is definitely worth a look. While it is still 234.1 foot long, the yacht was built in 2004 and sleeps just 12 guests, allowing a more intimate and private lifestyle of luxury. Spacious and opulent, the owner’s suite has its own deck, which houses the master bedroom, a family sitting room, a study, an outside deck with a swimming pool and even a private gallery. With a cruising speed of 14 knots, Utopia also has an onboard gym and various equipment for water sports including stand-up jet skis, kayaks, wind surfers, a banana boat and scuba gear.

LEANDER
Also accommodating 12 guests is the Leander. As one of the most indulgent super yachts the world has to offer, her interior is modelled after an English Country House. She boasts a piano in the main saloon and a full width mural in the dining room, an elegant and grand design that is one of the most famous in yachting interiors. Leander reaches 246 feet and can cruise at 15 knots. Built in 1993 by Peenewerft, she is actually noticeably more mature than the other yachts, although she makes up for her age in style and luxury. On board, Leander has a sauna and gym, as well as a helipad on one of the four decks. Leander has an impressive range of eight thousand nautical miles, meaning whether she takes you to the other side of the world, or simply to a secluded bay nearby, she does so with grace and style.
