2014 has sadly been a year where we have lost many of out brightest stars; Some extremely talented actors, writers, politicians and TV personalities have all departed this year. We say goodbye to the 20 most amazing individuals who died in 2014.
ROBIN WILLIAMS – JULY 21, 1951 – AUGUST 11, 2014
One of the great comedians of our time took his own life in August.
ALFREDO DI STÉFANO – JULY 4, 1926 – JULY 7, 2014
Di Stéfano who died aged 88 was one of the greatest players in the history of football. Nicknamed the ‘blond arrow’, he terrorised defences with his attacking ability.
RIK MAYALL – MARCH 7, 1958 – JUNE 9, 2014
The English comedian who starred in Bottom and The Young Ones died of a sudden heart attack.
PEACHES GELDOLF – MARCH 13, 1989 – APRIL 7, 2014
The model and socialite died of a heroin overdose at her Kent home.
JOAN RIVERS – JUNE 8, 1933 – SEPTEMBER 4, 2014
The acerbic, sharp tongued comedian died after complications arose during a minor throat operation.
MAYA ANGELOU – APRIL 4, 1928 – MAY 28, 2014
The writer, poet and essayist who helped to break down racial barriers in the USA was lauded by Barack Obama amongst others.
ROGER LLOYD-PACK – FEBUARY 8, 1944 – JANUARY 15, 2014
Lloyd-Pack will be forever loved for his role as Trigger in the sitcom Only Fools and Horses. He died after a long battle with pancreatic cancer.
L’WREN SCOTT – APRIL 28, 1964 – MARCH 17, 2014
The celebrity stylist and long-time girlfriend of Mick Jagger killed herself in her Manhattan apartment.
BOB HOSKINS – OCTOBER 26, 1942 – APRIL 29, 2014
The actor famed for his portrayal of cockney archetypes died after contracting pneumonia.

The Dominican born fashion designer died after a long battle with cancer at his Connecticut home.
ELIZABETH PEÑA – SEPTEMBER 23, 1959 – OCTOBER 14, 2014
The Cuban-American actress who starred in the action classic Rush Hour died of liver cirrhosis due to alcohol abuse.
LAUREN BACALL – SEPTEMBER 16, 1924 – AUGUST 12, 2014
Bacall was one of the great screen sirens of all time and passed away at the age of 89.

Australian cricketer Phillip Hughes tragically died after being struck on the head by a cricket ball whilst batting in a match.
