10 Worst Dressed Men of 2013
Words: Violet
The close of the year has got us here at The Gentleman’s Journal feeling rather nostalgic; looking back over 2013 we bring you our list of the top 10 worst dressed men of the year (in no particular order)…
1. Justin Bieber
, Oh how the mighty have fallen! The boy who won the world over just a few years ago, has had a rather rocky 2013. But who are we to pass judgement – if we’d made us much as he had by 19 then we’d probably be announcing our retirement over twitter too. But sadly for all his Beliebers, Justin fared no better in the style stakes either this year, from gas masks and bandanas to Chanel balaclavas and studded flat caps – not a day passed without a fashion faux pas for Mr Bieber.
2. Usher
, He may have won the nations hearts as a mentor on The Voice USA, but that does not give him a free pass to wear those ridiculous red shoes – or leather trousers.
3. Russell Brand
, The lovable rogue has done it again, a regular on similar lists, a look back through Russell’s 2013 style reads like a ‘what-not-to-wear’, for the stylistically challenged. Leave the ripped skinny jeans and deep v-neck tee’s to the indie teenagers next year, Russell.
4. Kanye West
, Quite possibly one half the ultimate worst dressed couples of 2013 (sadly this list is yet to surface), but on his own he still manages to do a pretty good job of ruining designer pieces in an amalgamation of terrible style choices.
5. John Mayer
, This bad-boy singer song writer doesn’t actually that awful a ‘dress sense’; rather it is his choices in accessorising that leave so much to be desired. Note to John – remove the hat, the chains, the jewellery, and the scarves around your waist before leaving the house in 2014.
6. Robbie Savage
There were a whole host of Footballers that nearly made this list, but we thought it only to fair include just one – slicked hair, fake tan, luminous white teeth and a wardrobe to match, a sure sign that money can’t buy you style…or class.
7. Ed Sheeran
, Don’t get us wrong, we love this guy, but can someone please find him a stylist worthy of the music he makes?
8. Leonardo Di Caprio
, This is a lesson in what you get when bad clothes meet good people. A far cry from the glamour of The Great Gatsby, Leo’s off-duty look is doing him no favours. From socks with slip on shoes to that awful flat cap, we wish it wasn’t so, but Leo’s look needs a serious shake up for next year.
9. Matt Damon
, A Hollywood A-Lister – yes. A style Icon – no. If a picture really does speak 1000 words, then need we say more – just take a look.
10. Channing Tatum
The third and final Hollywood A Lister who we really wish we didn’t have include in this list – but the hats made us. Regularly topping best dressed lists when on the red carpet, Tatum is just another example of what happens when the stylists are off duty.
