10 people you need to follow on Instagram right now
Words: Charlie Thomas
Instagram has been nothing short of a global sensation. It only launched in 2010, but in those short 5 years it has garnered a mammoth following of 300 million active monthly users, which is part of the reason why Facebook bought it for $1billion in 2012 – an unprecedented sum. Plenty of talented, interesting people regularly post candid shots, offering us mortals a voyeuristic insight into their daily lives, which sounds weird, but we still can’t get enough. Here are 10 men and women you need to follow on Instagram…
PRESIDENT BARACK OBAMA
He needs no introduction. The most powerful man in the Free World may not run his own page, but shots like these make it more than worth it.
ALEX PENFOLD
One of the most talented young automotive photographers in Britain, Alex Penfold frequents the streets of London and beyond on the search for the rarest, most exotic supercars.
SCOTT SCHUMAN, AKA THE SARTORIALIST
Scott Schuman, founder of style blog, The Sartorialist, has an eye for the details, photographing some of the most stylish men and women in the world.
VICTORIA’S SECRET
With photographs like these, the Victoria’s Secret page is well worth a follow.
HOROLOGY TIMES
The Horology Times is the one-stop shop for those who love fine timepieces. You can expect photos of new releases, as well as live wristshots from shows and fairs around the globe.
MUHAMMAD ALI
Yes, the real Muhammad Ali has his own Instagram page. He often posts inspiring classic images of him in the ring, as well as the odd current-day selfie. If anyone’s allowed to take a selfie, it’s the greatest of all time.
JENSON BUTTON
The gentleman racer, Jenson is one of the most humble and approachable Formula One drivers in recent memory. His girlfriend, Jessica Michibata is absolutely stunning, too.
NICK WOOSTER
If you’re worried about your hair turning grey, you should probably follow fashion god Nick Wooster.
EMILY RATAJKOWSKI
Yes, she rose to fame after appearing in the plagiarised Robin Thicke/Pharrell Williams song and yes, she’s probably (very) full of herself, but we can’t help but still follow her. This photo shows why.
THE GENTLEMAN’S JOURNAL
It would just be plain rude not to follow us, gentlemen.
