10 amazing facts about Apple that show just how big it really is

Apple is the world’s biggest company and is showing no signs of surrendering that crown anytime soon. With regular product releases, updates and queues around the block to be the first to get hands on with the new tech, Apple has developed a cult following – a cult following that amounts to millions around the globe. Everyone knows Apple is big, the Cupertino company’s success is hardly kept under wraps, but just how big is big? These 10 facts will provide some scale.
1 – Cash in hand
Apple has $206 billion USD in cash assets. In comparison, Microsoft has $99 billion in its pockets, Google $73 billion, Amazon and Facebook both have $14 billion. It has enough cash to buy every single person in the U.S. an iPhone.
2 – The U.S. Treasury
It dwarfs tech rivals for cash in hand and it now also has more than its own government.
3 – Profit on profit on profit
Apple’s annual profit in its most recent earnings call were $53.4 billion. That’s more than $1 billion every week in profits.
4 – Snapchat, Pinterest and Airbnb
Those three are some of the most exciting and biggest names in tech. For 2014, Apple made enough profit, $39.5 billion, to buy all of them and have cash left over.
5 – China loves it…
The company has grown to $12.5 billion in Greater China alone, nearly doubling from a year ago.
6 – Holland, Belgium, Greece, Switzerland
Apple sold 48.05 million iPhones last year – that’s enough to give everyone in all four of those countries a device and have nearly 800,000 left over.
7 – Britain
iOS device sales have totalled more than a billion – that’s enough to give every person in the UK 15 each.
8 – Russia
Last year Apple was worth more than the entirety of the Russian stock market, with a little to spare too.
9 – Costa Rica
Apple’s revenue for the last quarter alone was $51.5 billion – that’s more than the Central American country’s entire economy.
10 – Boeing 737s
Apple’s $11.1 billion profit for this year’s Q4 could purchase at least 100 of the new-generation 200-seater aircrafts and still have a little left over to fuel them all.
