Whether you sample their signature Dead Hippie or green chill cheeseburger, MEATliquor can’t fail to impress. Word of warning: think twice about heading here on an early date. It’s loud, dark and the food will get messy.

If you can stomach the never-ending queue outside the Covent Garden branch, Shake Shack offers great value for what are damn near perfect patties.

With a regularly changing special, and consistently great, all natural ingredients, Honest Burgers is hard to beat.

Inventive names such as the ‘Kevin Bacon’, ‘Royale Wit Cheese’ and ‘Woody Harrelson’ make this place a must, despite its Dalston location.

For something a little spicier, the Jamaican-themed Boom Burger serves up jerk chicken, slow cooked pork and tasty beef.

The newly opened Big Fernand is making quite a name for itself already, offering French-themed burgers at very reasonable prices.

Simplicity is key to the Bleecker St burger. The meat is blended by The Butchery and is flavoursome, tender and juicy. You can’t go wrong.

There’s plenty of hype surrounding Five Guys, and for some it just won’t live up to it. You can’t deny the quality on offer for this high street fast food chain though, and the toppings are limitless too.
